Based on the demand of the industry seeking modern commercial warehouse and the necessity of facilities to
store collateral goods accompanying banking business, our predecessor company Shibusawa-soko-bu was
established within Shibusawa’s premises on March 30, 1897.

After 1915, in response to the regional banks requesting establishment of modern warehouse companies,
we expanded our operations to Otaru and also Moji, but due to the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, warehouses
located in Tokyo suffered tremendous damage, thus we moved our head office from Fukagawa to
Minami-Kayabacho and began reconstruction.
